I found a new recipe for home made laundry soap:
1/3 cup washing soda
1/3 cup borax
1/3 cup Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap (I used Lavender, but they make Peppermint, Almond and Unscented as well)
Put all the ingredients in a 1 1/3 gallon laundry detergent container, fill with hot water and shake. It is much easier and a lot less messy than than my previous recipe, which involved grating and melting Fels Naptha soap on the stove, etc.
I will use the left over bar of Fels Naptha Soap for stains instead of Spray and Wash Stain Stick (thanks to Dwija at House Unseen, Life Unscripted for the tip!
I'll let you know how it works out!
Thanks for this Paula. I tried the other dry recipe and I did like but this sounds like a breeze. I will try it if you give us a good report. xo
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good!
DeleteI'm a big fan of Dr. Bronner's. I like products that are multi-purpose. Hope it works well!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I like it! I'm using a different no-grate recipe now too- borax, washing soda, oxyclean. Just stir and use. So far so good!
ReplyDeleteI found this post via a comment you made on Make It Do. I hope to try it, but I need dye free, scent free, etc. I will look for unscented Dr. Bonner's. I'm Pinning this so I have it for reference. Thanks for sharing!

You will also have to determine which areas need your maximum attention. You will be able to tell the house keeper to clean a certain part of the house if it needs to be prepared for a guest. House Cleaning
