Random Easter Weekend Pictures

We had a wonderful Triduum and Easter Day!  Here are a few pictures.

 Holy Thursday: Foot Washing

Good Friday: "Behold the Wood of the Cross, on which is hung the Savior of the World!"

Good Friday: Making hot cross buns

Phoebe making Easter bread

Holy Saturday: Our friend Katy and her children after the blessing of the Easter food

Lots of delicious food for the Easter Sunday feast!

We went to brunch on Easter Sunday at our friends' beautiful home.

This is their courtyard

"Everyone say: 'Alleluia'"!

Martha winters her geraniums over and they are gorgeous every year!

Tea outside on a beautiful day - it doesn't get better than this!

The leaves are almost out!

Martha's beautiful brunch table - note the lovely tablecloth!

Our dinner table for Easter dinner

We had melon with prosciutto, lamb, turkey, risotto, roasted potatoes, salad, asparagus, hot cross buns and chocolate espresso cheesecake and strawberries for dessert.

We had a beautiful Triduum and Easter - how was yours?

Nineteen

My youngest child, my only son, my baby, turned 19 on April 12.

He arrived nineteen years ago on Palm Sunday.

He was 9 lbs, 4 oz. and 19 inches long.

He gazed at the world in wonder when he was born.

He grew in wisdom and grace.

Getting ready to walk (he walked at 8 months)

Playing with his big sister Phoebe

Talking with Marta, a friend visiting from Guatemala
(note, in the background, the busted-out screen.
He and his friends thought it was easier than opening the door.)

At his cowboy birthday party (it was a rootin', tootin' good time)

Always up for a good read
Who was our laundress back then? (...oh, yes, it was me)

Looking very urbane at his First Communion
(Bond, James Bond)

Looking professorial in his new glasses

Always ready for an adventure
(usually this involved exotic trips to garage sales in search of G.I. Joes)

Helping Charles paint a mural at a local middle school

At ten, already a world traveler
(he went to France with Charles to a family wedding)

In 19 years, we went from this

to this.

Happy Birthday Miguel!

New Design

I finally figured out how to change the background of my blog, and to change the width of the background picture.

I am not technically gifted at all, rather, I am ham-handed, and I break out into a cold sweat at the thought of tinkering with the computer.  But, all things being equal, I like what I've done so far....

I wanted a nicer looking, lighter colored background, without it being too cutesy.

Anyway, if you like it (or don't like it), please let me know what you think!

Thanks again to all of you who are following my blog, and who take the time to comment - it brightens my day to know you are out there!
